FRANK PERICOLOSI POMONA-PITZER - HEAD COACH
When we see a player, we have interest in, our first request is to see a high school transcript. Pomona College and Pitzer College both like to see students challenging themselves in the classroom with AP and honors classes and excelling in those classes.?
We then want to see standardized test scores to see if they fit the profile at each school. Next we try to determine if the student is actually interested in our colleges; we want student-athletes who want to be here. That requires some work from the perspective student-athlete standpoint.?It is important to do your research.
* Do our colleges have the major you want?
* Is it the right fit socially?
If baseball ability, academics and interest are all there, that is a student we will move forward with in the recruiting process. From there we try to be as honest as possible about our process and we ask the prospective student-athlete to do the same. We understand that every athlete we recruit is not going to end up at our institutions and we try to be as up front as possible so we can put a great class together.
