Coach Preston joins PTW after two decades of developing players at the highest level. A former top-30 nationally ranked junior in Britain and NCAA D1 player himself, James has coached national champions, as well as British and American number ones.

Having captained Great Britain at multiple age-groups, including Junior Davis Cup and the Commonwealth Youth Games, he has mentored national talent and led coach-education programs throughout the UK.

 

James also spent several years in the States at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy. His global experience provides insight into the demands and challenges of playing collegiate tennis. With a blend of on-court experience and performance expertise, James consults families and players with unrivalled guidance into the recruiting process.

As Director of Tennis, his vision aligns perfectly with PTW’s long standing hands-on approach to ensure the right academic and athletic fit for long-term success.

James and his wife, Hannah, reside in Cornwall England with their infant son Jack.
