Coach Ellis is no stranger to PTW, having recruited numerous student-athletes from Play to Win when he served as the Recruiting Coordinator at Swarthmore College from 2017–2022. During his tenure, Ellis played a key role during one of the most successful stretches in program history, as the Garnet compiled a 114–66 overall record, captured two Centennial Conference Championships, and earned two NCAA Tournament appearances.

 

In his role at Swarthmore, Ellis provided guidance to both the players and parents regarding the nuanced process of high-academic admissions and roster construction. Coach Ellis understands how to navigate the intersection of selective admissions and collegiate athletics - and does so in lock step with PTW’s mission of leveraging athletics for academic opportunities.

His empathetic nature is illustrated by his deep involvement with children with special needs as both a teacher and advocate.

Andrew currently resides in Pennsylvania. Outside of baseball, he enjoys spending time with his 14-month-old nephew, Levi.
